State Requirements for Nail Technician Licensing in Nevada
Be eighteen (18) years old or older.
Has completed 10th grade.
Six hundred (600) hours of combined theoretical and hands-on training from a reputable school.
Mandatory license renewal every two (2) years.
How Much Do Nevada Nail Tech Programs Cost?
Nail tech schools in Nevada can come with a pretty significant price tag, but you’ll definitely want to shop around if the price is going to be a big factor in your decision. The program cost is usually split between tuition, books, supplies, and any associated registration fees. Less expensive programs will usually start around $3,995 while broader programs and full-blown cosmetology courses can get as high as $10,000 or more.

The 600-hour training program will ensure that students are more than capable of providing service to customers by learning the following:

State Licensing Exam
Students that pass the training must request an application for licensure from the Board along with paying a $15 fee prior to taking the actual exams. Applicants will receive the necessary forms that must be filled up and sent back including a $110 initial license fee.
Once approved, applicants must then take and pass both the written and practical exams.
The written portion of the exams will assess the examinee’s understanding of the following:
Antisepsis, sterilization, and sanitation.
Use of mechanical and electrical devices for nail-related services.
Nevada laws and regulations about cosmetology.
The hands-on portion of the exams will require its participants to bring the required equipment of their own to demonstrate several practical skills in nail technology, pedicuring, and/or wrapping or extending nails.
