State Requirements for Nail Technician Licensing in Idaho
Four hundred (400) hours of educational training or eight hundred (800) hours of apprenticeship.

Practical Exam – this will test the examinee’s ability to perform nail-related services that must be completed within 3 hours. A mannequin hand with a set of nails must be prepared before the exam which entails the following services such as:

Candidate summary and cleanup
A minimum score of 75% is required to qualify for the license.
Written Exam – the theoretical portion of the exams must be completed within 90 minutes and will cover, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Scientific concepts
Infection control procedures
Methods of disinfection
Nail services
Sanitizing and disinfecting circulating and non-circulating pedicure tubs
Aside from receiving tips from customers, nail care professionals can expect to receive an average base pay of $36,310 per year or $17.46 per hour.
Does Idaho Have Continuing Education Requirements for Nail Technicians?
